Privacy policy
What this website collects, why, and what it does not do. Written to describe what is actually configured rather than what a template assumes.
What happens to your information.
Client review required before launch
Sections marked [to confirm] depend on choices the firm has not yet made — analytics, cookie tooling, hosting region and retention. They are written honestly as unconfirmed rather than filled in with assumptions. Nothing in this policy should be published as final until those are settled.
Who is responsible
Evans Law, PC, 17542 East 17th Street, Suite 100, Tustin, California 92780. Telephone 714.955.7444. Email brett@bettercallbrett.org.
Information you give us
If you complete the contact form, you provide your name, email address, an optional telephone number, the category of matter, a description of your role, an indication of any deadline, and a short free-text description of your situation, together with an acknowledgment that submitting the form does not create an attorney-client relationship.
That submission is stored in this website’s database and a notification is sent by email to the firm so it can be read. It is used to evaluate and respond to your enquiry, to run a conflicts check, and to keep a record of the enquiry. It is not used for marketing, and it is not sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own purposes.
Please do not include confidential or privileged information in the form. See the attorney advertising and disclaimer notice.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site is served by a web host that keeps standard server logs, which typically include IP addresses, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability purposes.
This website uses Pirsch Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service hosted in Germany, to count visits and see which pages are read. Pirsch does not use cookies, does not collect or store personal data, and does not track visitors across other websites. Visitors are counted using a temporary identifier that is regenerated every 24 hours and cannot be linked back to an individual. No advertising or cross-site tracking technology is used anywhere on this site.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. WordPress and the form software may set functional cookies necessary for the site and form to work correctly.
Because the analytics used here set no cookies and collect no personal data, no cookie consent banner is required. If that ever changes, this section and a consent notice will be updated first.
Retention
[To confirm] How long form submissions are kept. The firm should set a retention period consistent with its own file-retention and conflicts practices, and this section should state it plainly.
Service providers
The website is hosted by a third-party web host and email notifications are delivered through the mail service configured on the site. Those providers process information on the firm’s behalf in order to operate the site.
Your choices
You can ask what enquiry information the firm holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to brett@bettercallbrett.org. Some information may need to be retained where the firm has a legal or professional obligation to keep it, including for conflicts purposes.
[To confirm] Whether the firm is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, and if so the additional disclosures and request mechanisms that Act requires. This depends on the firm’s revenue and data volumes and is a decision for the firm, not for a website.
Children
This website is directed to businesses and adults seeking legal services and is not intended for children.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to submissions is limited to the firm. No website can promise perfect security, and email is not a secure channel. For anything sensitive, telephone the firm and arrange a secure method.
Changes
This policy will be updated when the site changes. Material changes should be dated at the top of this page once the confirmations above are resolved.

Footnote
- A privacy policy that describes practices the site does not actually have is worse than none, because it is a written statement that happens to be untrue. The bracketed items above are deliberate and must be resolved before launch.
